CHILDREN’S MINISTRY

The HPC Children’s Ministry Program is centered around building a community of grace, love and compassion for ALL through the love of Jesus! We partner with parents, caregivers and our amazing volunteers to not only teach the love of Christ but also encourage our HPC kids to share the love of Christ through action, time and participation in our church and community. We provide Children's Ministry programs that build a welcoming environment to foster a Christian community that models the unconditional love that God has for us all.

SUNDAY SCHOOL

On the 1st Sunday of the month, K-3rd grades are invited for a short Chapel lesson following the Time with Children in Worship. Grades 4th/5th are welcome to attend as mentors for our younger grades or remain in Worship as part of their faith formation journey. All children will return to Worship for Communion.

On the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Sunday of each month: K-5th grades are invited to attend Sunday School following the Time with Children in Worship. These classes are designed for them! We use the “WHIRL” curriculum and meet in age-appropriate clusters when possible (K-2nd, 3rd-5th) to share a lesson that is rooted in a theme of the day and provide ways of living out our faith in the world around us. All while showing our kids that a life in the church is a great place to meet friends, explore the Bible, and grow in their faith together.

CHILDCARE

Child Care is available every Sunday during worship. Our Child Care Providers provide a safe and welcoming space for all children that are 6 months to 4 years old (including all preschool). If your child is turning 5 in the current school year, please feel free to reach out to Carol Lavis to discuss when your child might be ready to move into our Sunday School program.

YOUTH FORUM SUNDAY SERIES:

Throughout the year we invite our 6th-8th graders to attend focused lessons that are offered in a series format. This Fall we will be using an Illustrated Ministry curriculum called "Tell Me About the Bible: Extraordinary Leaders". This curriculum teaches youth about the Bible through a progressive lens and worldview that examines different aspects of the Bible while encouraging them to wonder together, ask questions and make connections to life today. These classes are held during Worship (following the Time with Children). Our Fall series will gather on September 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th and October 27th.
