Welcome to Living in America!
Living in America (LIA), a Hitchcock outreach program on Thursday mornings at the church and virtually, has been filling the needs of over 5,650 international adults since 1976. If you know any international adults who are interested in making friends and learning about America Culture while improving their English, please recommend LIA to them. Many friendships made at LIA have continued for years, and alumnae groups meet regularly in Tokyo. The program encourages conversation in English.
CLASSES
In-house and hybrid classes will meet on Thursday mornings from September 19, 2024 until early-June 2024. They will be held from 9:30 – 11:30 AM with time to socialize from 9:00 – 9:30. By using virtual technology, students can join LIA classes from anywhere in the world! So, whether they are nearby in Westchester, halfway around the world, or somewhere in between, they are welcome to join LIA.
REGISTRATION
In the church on Thursday September 12, 2024 any time between 9:30 and 11:30 AM. After that, students may also register in the church any Thursday morning from 9:00 - 9:30 AM.
OR
REGISTRATION FEE
There will be a $25 registration fee for all students to help cover administrative costs. The Hitchcock Community Outreach Committee also helps fund the program.
SPECIAL EVENT
On Thursday December 19, 2024, from 10:00 – 11:30 am, there will be an in-house Christmas Service and celebration sponsored by LIA and Presbyterian Women. This program is a wonderful way for HPC members and their friends to have a “hands-on” opportunity for service and outreach.
